Its great that you will be having a few extra people stay as well.
To ensure the capacity of the facility is not over loaded and we stay within our insurance and council conditions it is important we know at all times who is staying in the house. The 2000 Childers disaster where 15 backpackers lost their lives has heightened the importance of this and we must comply with Queensland’s Department of Housing and Public Works legislation.
The standard house has 4 bedrooms each with one bed, either king or queen size beds
All 4 bedrooms have hallway doors plus double french doors opening outside.
Regulations do not allow ANYONE sleeping on the floors on mattresses or swags of any kind.
All extras other than babes in portacots are charged a per night rate with a min 2 nights
Please let us know how you want the extra bedding set up so we can have it all ready for you in advance.
Extra beds
We have
- 1 x double sofa bed – in large king bedroom.
- 1 x double sofa bed – in Pool side king bedroom. Suit 1 adult or 2 smaller adults or 2 children
- 1 x double sofa bed in open TV room – no privacy
- 2 x solid single beds – suit adults
- 2 x fold out camper style beds – suit smaller stature children – possibly primary school age or younger
- 1 x portacot – you will need to provide your own linen
Pool Side Ensuite
Has a king bed and its own bathroom.
There is a double sofa bed in this room as well
Garden Side Ensuite
Has a king bed and it’s own bathroom.
Can sleep up to 3 with either an extra child fold up bed or porta cot.
Large King bedroom with shared bathroom
Has a King bed and a sofa pull out bed. This is usually the first place we put extras if they are happy to share
The room can sleep up to max 5 (ideally max 4) with either the double pull out (suitable for 2 adult or 2 children) , plus child fold up bed or porta cot. Ideal for a family.
Small bedroom with shared bathroom
Has a Queen bed and is usually best with no extras but can sleep up to max 3 with either child fold up bed or porta cot.
Extra mini bedroom – Transform the Foyer
Ideal for single adult on a solid single bed.
We lock the front door that opens into the foyer. The double front french doors are still accessible and this is where most people come in and out to go to pool, BBQ, outside dining etc.
We add screens up for privacy from the lounge area. We have on occasions put 2 solid single beds in here side by side, however they are very close to each other.
TV Room
There is a Double fold out sofa bed here. We do not usually make this up in advance as it is part of the living space. This is suitable usually for a single guy or teenagers /children. This is in the open living space so does not afford any privacy.
